Raid on Local CSA
Last week there was a raid on a CSA in Nevada. They were hosting a Farm to Fork event when a health inspector showed up, forced them to throw away all the food and even pour bleach on it to insure that they wouldn’t feed it to the pigs! Did you know that cut vegetables are a bio-hazard? PLEASE take time to read more about this event which happened only 5 days ago. This is absolutely appalling…I can’t believe that food that is contaminated can make it all the way to fast food chains, but wholesome food is being stopped within a 1-hour drive to the farm. I would think the Health Department would have better things to do with their time…why don’t they inspect restaurants that fail to wash hands, keep foods at correct temperatures, clean out the ice bins in their soda machines, correctly clean food preparation areas, etc. I often think that the answer is to move to Europe…where food is real food! We need to begin to give voice to this concern. We need to see the end to GMOs and such nonsense…I could go on, but I know that I am preaching to the choir.

Whew, they dodged a bullet there. Thank goodness the Health Department was there to save the day.:-P That is so sad and outrageous.
