What’s a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. This is a business model that allows you and the farmer to work together to share the risks and benefits of producing your food. Together we turn raw ground into a biologically balanced, sustainable, productive, and highly diverse farm.
You purchase a subscription to the farm (a “share”) in advance of harvest to help with the cost of production and in return you receive a weekly box of produce. We’ll give you the freshest, best-tasting, naturally grown produce possible for the best value. Because you pay in advance as a CSA member, your get our produce for the least cost. Pickup Locations

How does it work?
In addition to the traditional CSA option of a single 13 week cycle at a great price, we are offering you 3 attractive long term member options to insure you a long term supply of Local Natural Food at a reduced monthly cost. 1) The 26 week (6 month) option. 2) The 52 week (annual) option is better. 3) The very best deal is a Founders Share.
The Founders Share is a perpetual share. It never expires nor diminishes in value. It is taking a truly firm stake in Jacob’s Cove and in support of Local Natural quality food production.
You can start a cycle at any time. You can opt out a week(s) if you are going to be gone or for some other reason such as your own garden by letting us know at least a day in advance before your weekly delivery. So, you will always get your weeks that were ordered. The opted out week(s) are deferred and tacked on the end of your cycle, not lost.

What will I get?
You will get over 7 lbs per share each week made up from 5 to 8 items. You will get our heirloom tomatoes and cherry tomatoes and some sort of greens about every time. A complete list of what we are growing is available here.
All of our produce is Local Natural Food. Real food, no chemicals, produced locally so as to be picked and delivered same day.
For fruit, we currently only produce the strawberries. We do however trade with other Local Natural food producers to also give cherries, apples, apricots, and peaches for more variety in your boxes.
What’s an Heirloom Variety
“Heirloom” is the term used for seeds that have been passed down for generations because of their superior flavor, beauty and nutrition. They have not been altered (hybridized) so their seeds can be saved and will produce the same plant year after year. The fruit they produce does not generally ship well and is not always uniform in size. This makes them unsuitable for industrial agriculture. Thus, you won’t find these varieties at your local super center grocery store. But the flavor can’t be beat.
The seeds you buy in the store or nursery are usually “hybrid.” Ask your nursery to carry heirloom seeds. They aren’t much more expensive but they are far superior, in our opinion. Plus, you can save the seed from year to year.
Year Round Harvest
We harvest year round! Our greenhouses have been designed with unique soil radiant heating and cooling so as to be able to produce together heat loving crops (tomatoes, peppers, cukes, beans, and squash) with warm, cool, and cold loving crops.
Can I Still Get Food After My Initial CSA Share is Done?
Because we grow year round you can get delivery all year. As a current member you will need to renew your subscription at least 8 weeks before it expires in order to not miss a delivery between purchased cycles.
We plan to create a retail farm stand here at Jacob’ Cove to sell our excess produce, if we have any. Our CSA members and restaurant customers come first.

You can also opt to have the food delivered to your door for just $65 per 13 week cycle. This way you never forget it and don’t have to make a special trip.
The best way to have a pick up location near you is to recruit your friends and neighbors to join as well. Anywhere we have a concentration of customers we’ll arrange for a pick up location.
